01 / Our approach
A plan for your roof. Not a fixed package.
Period character. Individual possibilities.
No two roofs in Camden behave the same way — Georgian townhouses, Victorian terraces and mansion blocks all come with different headroom, pitch and planning history, and conservation area rules can differ from one house to the next on the same street. So instead of pricing from a fixed package, we start by inspecting the roof and checking what planning actually allows, then build a phased proposal around what your particular building and its conservation status permit.
02 / What we offer
Get started with the work your property genuinely needs.
Whether it's a full architect-led loft conversion, structural timber repairs, or an insulation refresh, we plan the work around your building's actual condition and conservation obligations rather than applying a one-size-fits-all template.
For some Camden homes a simple rooflight installation does the job; for others — especially in conservation zones near Primrose Hill or Hampstead — a mansard is the only design that keeps the roofline looking right from street level. Rather than pushing every enquiry towards the same fix, we work out which service genuinely matches your property and its planning context, then assemble the right specialists in the right sequence.

Loft conversions
A complete conversion — whether dormer, mansard, rooflight or hip-to-gable — converts dead roof space into a genuine bedroom, home office or family room, complete with a code-compliant staircase and building control approval. Because much of Camden Town sits within a conservation area, the design also has to hold up to planning scrutiny on how it reads from street level, so we build that consideration into the earliest sketches rather than reworking a rejected application later.
Dormers & rooflights
Whether a dormer's added headroom suits you better, or a rooflight's smaller footprint within the existing roofline is the smarter route, comes down to your current ceiling height, the pitch of the roof, and how noticeable the alteration will be from the street. We weigh both against your actual roof — and against conservation area rules for your street where they apply — before making a recommendation.
Loft & roof-space repairs
Leaks, damp staining, decaying timber and half-finished jobs left by an earlier contractor are common across Camden's older housing, where roofs are often altered more than once over their lifetime. We track down where the problem actually starts — which can be several timbers away from the damp patch on the ceiling — instead of just patching the visible mark.
Insulation & boarding
Insulation that's been squashed flat or badly installed is one of the most frequent — and most correctable — reasons a period Camden home still feels cold even though insulation is technically in place. We bring it up to current standards while preserving safe loft access and usable storage, fitting raised boarding so anything stored up there doesn't compress the insulation beneath it.
04 / The process
Four defined stages. One team responsible throughout.
A clear sequence, agreed in advance. One point of contact at every stage.
Survey
Before any drawings are drafted, we assess ceiling height, roof pitch, access routes, existing structure, and — if the property is in a conservation area — what that means for the design.
Scope
You get a written plan for the whole project: what's included, what's assumed, and a phased price broken down stage by stage, giving you a clear point of reference before anything starts.
Build
Structural, roofing and internal work is scheduled with intent — the roof is made weathertight before internal finishing starts, and each phase properly sets up the one after it.
Finish
The project wraps up with snagging, building control paperwork, and a walkthrough of the completed space — documentation worth keeping on file if you decide to sell later.

05 / Why choose one team
One point of contact. Fewer gaps in between.
A loft project typically needs a designer, structural engineer, party wall surveyor and multiple trades. Hire each one separately and the handover points between them are exactly where delays and disagreements creep in. We manage the entire sequence — survey, design, approvals, structural work, roofing and internal finishing — through one point of contact, so responsibility never falls through the cracks between contractors.
06 / Our neighbourhoods

We work with homeowners, landlords and estate managers. Tell us where your property is and what it needs, and we'll discuss the right next step.

07 / Before we begin
Good questions. Clear answers.
Every property is different. These are a few of the questions we can help you work through before a visit.
07458 148224Does living in a conservation area mean I can't do a loft conversion?
Generally no — it affects what's allowed and how the design has to be approached (especially with mansards and street-visible dormers), but conservation status alone rarely blocks a conversion outright. We look into the specific planning situation for your address as part of the assessment.
Do you provide free quotes?
Yes. We begin with an on-site assessment to see the roof structure, access points and any conservation factors ourselves, then build a phased quote rather than giving a ballpark number over the phone.
Which areas do you cover?
Camden Town and Primrose Hill, Kentish Town, Hampstead and Belsize Park, and King's Cross. Nearby projects are considered by arrangement — share your address so we can confirm.
Do you work with landlords and estate managers?
Yes. Alongside homeowner projects, we handle structural upgrades, compliance-related work and roof-space repairs for landlords and estate managers.
